🎉 Hello and welcome to Year 2! 🎉
I’m Miss Oxley, and I have the absolute joy of teaching our wonderful Year 2 class, alongside the amazing Mrs T and Mrs Wai, who help us learn, grow and shine every single day!

This year, we’ll be stretching our brains in every direction as we dive into exciting new topics across all subjects:

🕰️ History Adventures
We’ll explore the history of our emergency services, uncover the story of the Titanic, and journey through time with Kings, Queens and Castles!

🌍 Geography Explorers
We’ll travel across continents and oceans, investigate seaside fieldwork, and compare life in contrasting places like Kenya.

🎨 Artful Artists
We’ll splash into colour with Jackson Pollock, try our hand at pointillism, sculpt with inspiration from Aboriginal art, and explore shape and pattern in buildings.

🔬 Super Scientists
We’ll investigate what humans and animals need to survive, discover the wonders of plants, and explore the uses of everyday materials.

📚 Literacy Legends
We’ll build brilliant sentences using ambitious vocabulary, and master the magic of Rainbow Grammar—which our children are already experts at!

➕ Magical Mathematicians
We’ll start with place value, then move on to adding and subtracting one- and two-digit numbers—watch our number skills soar!

🙏 Reflective RE Thinkers
We’ll be learning about forgiveness—how God forgives us for our sins, and how we can forgive each other, linking beautifully with our PSHE theme of “Being Me”.

💬 PSHE Champions
We’ll explore what makes us unique, how we can respect and support one another, and grow into kind, confident members of our classroom community.
